Gaining Professional Competency
Amy, you are currently accredited as a Graduate Teacher and as you are aware, the next step is to gain your Professional Competency. I hope you are aware that as a New Scheme Teacher who is employed on a full time basis you are required to achieve accreditation at a Professional Competence level within 3 years.
Amy, please refer to the PDF under the heading 'Summary of the Accreditation Process', which provides a brief overview of the accreditation process, some helpful hints and advice.
It is important that you ensure your supervisor is aware that you will be seeking accreditation at Professional Competence. Remember to continually collect and collate ongoing documentation of your work as a teacher, as authentic teaching documents will be needed as evidence for the accreditation decision.
